joseph montemurnoJoseph Montemurno

Joseph Montemurno, Appropriate Technology master's program graduate (2004), is working as a Building Systems Consultant/Green-Renewables Specialist at Steven Winter Associates, Inc., in Norwalk, Connecticut. Joseph had this to say about his experience in the graduate program in the Department of Technology: "I have been fortunate to be involved in many exciting projects in my time at SWA and I want to thank each one of you for your part in helping make this possible for me. I feel my graduate experience and time in Boone was wonderful and that ASU and the surrounding community is fortunate to have such a fine group of people, classes, and programs all under 'one' roof."

edwin woodsEdwin K. Woods

Edwin K. Woods, a 1998 graduate of Appalachian State is the Director of Construction Operations for Centex in Charlotte, NC.  Centex is an industry leading national home builder that has been a top 5 homebuilder in Charlotte since their acquisition of John Crosland Homes in 1988.

After graduating from ASU in 1998, Edwin joined Centex Homes’ Charlotte operation in 1998 as a Field Manager and was named Project Manager in 2000.  He became an Area Construction Manager in 2002 for a short period before becoming the Division Service Manager.  In 2004 he worked again as the Division’s Area Construction Manager until in 2006 when he became the Construction Services Manager. 

In December 2007, Edwin was named Director of Construction Operations for the Charlotte Division.  The responsibilities of the DCO consist of all construction, purchasing, estimating, home design, and warranty. 

Edwin has a B.S. in Construction Management from ASU and is currently pursuing his MBA from Queens University in Charlotte with graduation expected in 2009.

Edwin remains involved with Appalachian State through support of the Department of Technology and recruiting across many disciplines.

Edwin and his wife Shannon are pictured above with their 3 girls Ella, Chloe and Alexa.
